Adobe starts blocking Flash content

Starting today, Adobe will start blocking Flash content.

After thirty years (and the last 10 on life support), Adobe officially ended support for Flash on the 31st December.

From today, Flash content won’t be shown and rather a warning recommending Flash is removed from your computer.

For Windows devices, Microsoft made the optional Flash-removing update available in October on the Windows Update Catalog but didn’t roll it out more widely through Windows Update.

In early 2021, Microsoft will roll this update out more widely through Windows Updates and WSUS.

For Chrome, Google will release Chrome 88 which completely removes Flash support and capability from Chromium, which will also affect Microsoft Edge as it’s based on Chromium. Chrome will block Flash Player as “out of date”.
